Why I missed mesmerizing beauty of Big Ben?

Hi friends, thank you for stopping here. Hope you all enjoyed my blog about Amazing Glenfinnan viaduct trail.

Today I would like to share with you about my experience seeing Bigben. I had read a lot about Big Ben, and it’s closeness to London’s heart.

It was on a rainy day I visited Big Ben, but it has been closed for renovation. While I was looking up to see the clock tower, raindrops are covering my sight still I captured photos hoping my senses can enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of Big Ben next time.

The clock tower and Big Ben reminds me of the famous quote of Leonard Bernstein.
To achieve great things, two things are needed: A plan, and not quite enough time.

The clock tower and Big Ben is 150 years old but still, it keeps on reminding us of the importance of time….

Time is free, but it’s priceless.
You can’t own it, but you can use it.
You can’t keep it, but you can spend it.
Once you’ve lost it, you can never get it back.

When the clock tower was completed in 1859, it’s clock was the largest and most accurate four-faced striking and chiming clock in the world. The clock has a height of 315 feet and one has to climb 334 steps to reach the top.

The happy news is that once the renovation of Big Ben is completed, there will be an elevator to reach the top and there are plans to re-glaze and repaint the clock dials.

The clock tower is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and is a prominent symbol of the united kingdom and parliamentary democracy. The bell remains silent until the renovation works completed in the 2020s.
