Metro Trains Around the World

Hai friends, thank you for stopping here. Welcome to my third blog.Hope you enjoyed my second blog about Telephone booth. Today I would like to share with you about my experience of traveling in metro trains in different cities.

I’m an expatriate woman staying in Dubai for the past long 13 years. When I started living here first in Dubai, in 2007 Jan, the main difficulty for me is the lack of appropriate public transport system. I had to walk long distances to catch the bus to reach my friends, relatives, shopping, or for interviews. In most cases, there is no bus service to my specific region and either I have to walk a long distance or hire a taxi is very expensive.

In those days I use to think why this region is backing in developing a proper transport system. I started searching out and found out the news of Dubai Metro work in progress. The updates about the Dubai Metro is coming in newspapers every day. In 2010 Dubai government officially inaugurated the Dubai metro service to the public and it was a remarkable achievement in the history of Dubai.

We slowly shifted our home to the apartment nearby metro station and life become more easy day by day. I can easily catch up with my friends every day, weekly shopping, and most of the iconic attractions are connected by metro. Whenever relatives and friends come to visit Dubai, it is very easy for me to take them to different tourist places here using the metro and is quite affordable and safe traveling with kids. I started loving Dubai even more passionately.

Last year during our visit to the USA I happened to be in a late-night train to Newyork and I understood, it is always safe and easy traveling with kids around the world using the train. I wish if this whole world is connected by the metro, it would be more easy for us to roam around more safely and comfortably.

Last month on our visit to London, I saw the busiest face of a metro station, I wondered what the London metro system is built centuries back, and is still well maintained.

I always felt the train is very close to an ordinary man’s life struggling to meet his day to day routine. The nostalgic memories of having tea and hot crispy snacks from the train on our way back home during college days especially on rainy days. I love to be in trains enjoying music, reading books or chatting with nearby passengers, who become our friends for just a single journey. You would also have sweet memories to share about train journies with me.
